Family Fun Itinerary
Begin your exploration of Bay City at the Bay County Historical Museum and its Kantzler Maritime Gallery where the kids can climb behind the wheel of the tug "Witch." Wander over to the Delta College Planetarium for a trip to the stars before visiting The Art Center/Studio 23 gallery. Stroll Water Street to the Intermission Deli and pick up great deli sandwiches for a picnic in Wenonah Park [weather depending]. Don't forget to stop by St. Laurent Brothers Nut House for some handmade chocolate treats. Enjoy your lunch during the free Children's Concert Series before climbing aboard the Appledore IV for a sailing adventure on the Saginaw Bay. If you still have energy left to burn, stop by the Imagination Station playscape in Veterans Memorial Park or play a round of miniature golf at Buoy 18. Curl up in a comfortable bed in one of Bay City's fine hotels, many with swimming pools, so you can be rested and ready for more family fun in the morning.Travel 20 minutes north to Pinconning for a visit to Deer Acres Amusement Park and spend some time with the animals and Mother Goose characters that live there. After you've fed and pet the resident deer, head to the Bay City State Recreation Area. Make sure to stop at the Saginaw Bay Visitors Center where you'll learn about the formation of the Great Lakes, the importance of wetlands and the creatures that live there. Make sure to follow the trail to the swimming beach and take a dip in a Great Lake before heading home or to one of our great fun-filled family festivals for the evening.
Antique Toy and Fire House Museum
Kids from 1 - 101 will enjoy exploring the museum. Your expedition
starts with the NASCAR Room - the room has almost every model
collectible toy car ever raced! Completing the room is a real NASCAR
Monte Carlo driven by the late Jeffrey Dobson.
Your journey will continue to the Tonka Room. This collection has been marked as the largest collection of Tonka Toys and Trucks in the World! It's definitely a once in a lifetime viewing experience.
Next off to the main highlight of the museum, the motorized Fire Trucks. With over 80 fire trucks, with the oldest being the 1914 International, which is believed to be the oldest motorized fire truck in the world. You can't miss the pride and joy of the collection, the New York Super-Pumper, the biggest fire truck EVER built. The Super Pumper could deliver 8,800 gals per minute for a distance of more than a quarter of a mile. The roar of its powerful engine could be heard for a long way and the drivers had to wear special ear protection to protect their ears.
Also included: Snap-On Tool Room, Coca-Cola Room, 9/11 Memorial, The Antique Alarm System and much more.

Bay City Independents Vintage Base Ball Team
Return to a time when the game was played without fences, without
gloves and without overpaide players. The Bay City Independents Vintage
Base Ball Club will take you on an entertaining tour of what baseball
was like in the 19th century when real men played ball bare-knuckle
style. Most home games take place in beautiful Carroll Park.

The Civic Arena features both an Olympic and NHL ice surface, skate
rental, fully stocked pro shop, food service center, video game arcade

BaySail - Appledore Tall Ships
The Appledore Tall Ships provide three-hour public sailing excursions,
private charters, corporate team building programs, and dinner cruises
on the Saginaw River and Saginaw Bay. All sails depart from the
downtown Bay City dock. Our Dinner Cruises and Stargaze Sails will
allow you to enjoy an intimate dinner while peacefully sailing by some
of the most breathtaking views. Watch the sunset, then sail away under
the moonlight. This will be an evening you will not soon forget. Space
is limited. Reservations required.

from Labor Day to mid-October. A perfect family getaway in northern Bay

Built with citizen contributions, the Riverwalk features a two-mile
trail with handicap-accessible fitness course, fishing pier with
Victorian gazebo and the "World's Most Crooked Bridge" to the
Middlegrounds Island and Bigelow Park. Riverwalk connects to RailTrail
and together provide nine miles of paved trail.
