State Theatre
A must for lovers of nostalgia. Built in 1930, the historic State
Theatre is one of Michigan's finest examples of Art Deco design. A
sister theatre to Detroit's famous Fox Theater, the State Theater was
designed by Howard Crane and modeled after an Aztec temple.
The Bijou Orchestra
Unlike any other ensemble in the country, the Bijou Orchestra is
modeled on the orchestras found in America’s theaters in the first
part of the 20th century. Small and versatile, it is composed of artists
selected from the ranks of symphony orchestras, opera houses and
university faculties. The Orchestra performs both in Bay City and
beyond, featuring a vast repertoire ranging from 19th century European
and American dance and concert music to swing, bluegrass, jazz and
klezmer styles.
VanBuren Street Dinner Theater

restored former Christian Science Reading Room.
